Google Offers Improved Generative AI Search Features for Physicians

On Monday, Google Cloud revealed brand-new search features backed by artificial intelligence that, according to the company, would make it easier for medical professionals to swiftly and accurately extract clinical data from various kinds of medical records.

It can be difficult for physicians to locate relevant information and data in the health care sector since it is frequently spread across many systems and formats. Doctors will be able to gather data from clinical notes, scanned documents, and electronic health records using Google Cloud’s new search feature so it can be viewed in one spot.

According to the business, the new features would ultimately help healthcare staff save a significant amount of time and effort.

In an interview with CNBC, Lisa O’Malley, senior director of product management for Cloud AI at Google Cloud, said that while being able to conduct that search should save time, it should also reduce physicians’ aggravation and help them find the right answer.

For instance, clinicians no longer need to look through a patient’s notes, faxes, and electronic health data separately to learn about their history. Instead, they can use search terms like “What medications has this patient taken in the past 12 months?” to find the pertinent data in a single location.
