S&P 500 is Flat on Monday

The 10-year Treasury increased to start the final week of September, a month that has so far seen significant losses, yet the S&P 500 barely moved.

Both the Nasdaq Composite and the wider index experienced 0.2% gains. 10 points, or 0.03%, less were lost by the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Its highest level since 2007 when it went as high as 4.57%, the 10-year Treasury yield yesterday increased by 10 basis points to 4.54%.

The member of the Dow with the lowest performance was 3M, which dropped more than 2%. Consumer goods and utilities were the S&P 500’s two most underperforming sectors, down 0.9% and 0.7%, respectively.

After the online retail behemoth announced Monday that it will invest up to $4 billion in artificial intelligence company Anthropic, Amazon shares increased by more than 1%.
