On Wednesday, the S&P 500 remained largely unchanged, pulling back from earlier record highs amid declines in some major technology stocks.
In contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average bucked the trend and rose, supported by strong earnings reports and a rally in Nvidia shares.
The broad market index hovered just above flat, while the 30-stock Dow surged by 466 points, or 0.9%. The Nasdaq Composite lagged behind, dropping 0.3%.
This movement ended the S&P 500’s four-day winning streak, while the Dow was on track for its fifth straight positive session.
