As investors waited for news on the international trade front in Washington, U.S. stock futures increased early Tuesday to begin a shorter trading week.
80 points, or 0.1%, were added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures.
Futures for the Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500 increased by 0.4% and 0.3%, respectively. For the main averages, Wall Street is coming off a positive week.
The S&P 500 ended the week up 1.5%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained about 0.6%. The NYSE Composite increased 2.6%
. President Donald Trump’s proposal for reciprocal tariffs on nations that impose duties on U.S. goods calmed investors who were concerned they would be more severe, and this helped to explain most of last week’s progress on Thursday.
