Elon Musk has sued DeepAI, a firm financed by Microsoft, and its CEO, Sam Altman, as well as other parties, alleging that they have strayed from the business’s initial goal of creating artificial intelligence for the greater good of humanity.
Musk’s legal team said in the legal lawsuit filed with a San Francisco court on Thursday that he was asked to start a nonprofit research centre in 2015 by Altman and DeepAI co-founder Greg Brockman with the goal of developing artificial general intelligence for the benefit of humanity.
Musk expressed concerns about the possible risks of artificial intelligence (AI) and resigned from the board of DeepAI in 2018, despite being a co-founder of the company in 2015.
