Stock futures remained stable on Wednesday following the closure of the S&P 500 at a record high.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures inched up by 7 points, or less than 0.1%. Similarly, S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures showed minimal movement.
The previous day, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both surged over 1% after the release of new U.S. inflation data that was largely in line with expectations.
Gabriela Santos, global market strategist at JPMorgan Asset Management, shared her views on the matter, stating, “We don’t believe the Federal Reserve will be the catalyst to end this economic cycle. The ultimate factor determining the conclusion of this expansion will depend on the occurrence of an unforeseen shock. Otherwise, the late cycle phase may persist for an extended period.”
