TV broadcasters fell offline on Friday as businesses around the world struggled with a continuing severe IT outage, disrupting financial services and general practitioners’ offices.
The impact on air travel has been especially severe, with airlines grounded, services delayed, and travellers advised by airports.
The company informed NBC that a problem with its most recent software upgrade caused a significant inconvenience for cybersecurity behemoth CrowdStrike earlier on Friday.
With emphasis on Mac and Linux hosts remaining unaffected, the business’s CEO, George Kurtz, has recently stated that the company is “actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts.”
