Wall Street Pauses after a Robust Week, and Stocks Barely Move

After President Donald Trump postponed enacting new reciprocal tariffs, investors weighed the latest on global trade, and stocks saw minimal movement on Friday, marking a lull from this week’s robust performance.

The Industrial Average of the Dow Jones fell 15 points. The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 each saw 0.1% gains.

It is expected that the major averages will close the week higher. The S&P 500 and the Dow are expected to gain 1.5% and 0.9%, respectively. Today, the Nasdaq is up 2.2%.

On Thursday, Trump signed a document outlining a strategy to levy taxes on imports from nations that impose customs on American goods.

As investors piled up, the absence of immediate tariffs improved confidence and caused equity markets to rise.
