With the Attention now on the Fed Meeting, European Markets are Expected to Open Modestly Higher

According to a recent update by CNBC, European markets are expected to open slightly higher on Monday following a positive finish in the US, driven by encouraging economic data. Last week, the pan-European Stoxx 600 index closed in the green after an unexpected decline in unemployment was revealed in the US jobs report for November.

The S&P 500 also reached a new yearly high as the University of Michigan consumer survey indicated strong economic activity and contained inflation. This news has sparked optimism among investors, who are hopeful for a “soft landing” scenario in the US.

In early premarket trade on Monday, stock futures on Wall Street showed little change as market participants eagerly await the Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for this week. Investors are keen to gather insights on when the central bank may commence interest rate cuts.
