Stock futures are up early Monday, signaling optimism for the holiday shortened trading week following President Donald Trump’s announcement of a deal to de-escalate tensions between the U.S. and Iran.
Futures for the Dow Jones rose by 427 points (0.8%), S&P 500 futures increased by 1.2%, and Nasdaq 100 futures jumped 2%.
Global markets also gained: Japan’s Nikkei 225 hit a new intraday high, closing 5% higher; South Korea’s Kospi rose 5.2%; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 0.5%; and Europe’s Stoxx 600 gained 0.6%.
