The S&P 500 increased on Wednesday, buoyed by a moderate U.S. inflation report and gains in technology stocks driven by artificial intelligence companies like CoreWeave and Super Micro Computer.
The overall market index went up by 0.3%, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 0.7%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average remained relatively unchanged.
In July, the consumer price index met expectations, with a monthly rise of 0.1% and an annual inflation rate of 3.4%.
The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, increased by 0.2% for the month and 2.5% annually. Both headline and core inflation rates showed a slight decline from June.
