Due to a Short Session and bad Economic Data, S&P 500 Futures Modestly Decline

As traders prepared for a truncated session, S&P 500 futures moved lower on the strength of positive labour statistics.

Futures linked to the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 saw minor declines of 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively. There was only an 11-point decline in the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures.

Ahead of Friday’s crucial jobs report, investors examined data that was issued early on Wednesday that indicated the labour market was slowing.

ADP statistics revealed that private payroll growth in June was less than anticipated, although weekly jobless claims data exceeded economists’ projections.

Because the New York Stock Exchange closes early on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET, trading activity is probably going to be modest. Thursday is Independence Day, thus the exchange will be closed.
