Stock futures rose on Thursday morning following record closes for all three major stock market indexes and the conclusion of the Federal Reserve’s latest policy meeting.
Futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 84 points, or approximately 0.2%, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.3% and Nasdaq 100 futures surged by 0.7%.
Shares of semiconductor company Micron Technology soared over 17% in premarket trading after beating earnings expectations, while discount retailer Five Below saw a decline of more than 12% following disappointing quarterly results.
These movements came after a strong performance on Wall Street, with all three major indexes reaching new closing highs. The Dow and Nasdaq Composite both rose over 1%, and the S&P 500 closed above 5,200 for the first time, adding around 0.9%.
