Stocks Little Changed as Warsh Warns of Inflation Risks in Jackson Hole Speech

Stocks remained relatively steady on Friday as investors monitored earnings reports and responded to Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh’s recent remarks expressing concern about rising inflation.

The S&P 500 declined slightly by 0.1%, while the Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.2%.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 60 points, or 0.1%.

During his speech at the central bank’s annual symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Warsh acknowledged that inflation remains a concern.

He noted that although this summer’s PCE and CPI readings were better than expected, they do not indicate that the underlying inflation trends have significantly improved.
