Wednesday saw a decline in stocks as one of the few remaining positive aspects for investors was removed by Nvidia, the artificial intelligence darling.
For the first time since announcing record-breaking results last week, Nvidia saw a decline in premarket trading after fluctuating between gains and losses. Nvidia experienced a 20% increase in the three trading days after the release of the study.
Prior to the bell, several megacap tech companies faced difficulties; Microsoft, Meta, Tesla, and Alphabet were all in the negative.
Away from technology, American Airlines experienced a more than 9% decline after lowering its forecast for second-quarter sales. Southwest Airlines experienced a 3% decline in sympathy.
Conversely, Dick’s Sporting Goods saw a gain of over 8% as a result of good earnings and increased outlook.
