Following an S&P 500 closing above 5,500 for the first time, U.S. stock futures moved slightly above the flatline on Wednesday.
While Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 54 points, or 0.1%, futures linked to the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 saw a little increase.
In response to WSJ and NYT news that Skydance Media had reached a preliminary agreement to acquire National Amusements, the controlling shareholder of the entertainment conglomerate, Paramount Global shares surged 9% in premarket trade.
After closing above 5,500 for the first time on Tuesday, the broad market index increased by 0.6%. In addition, the 30-stock Dow increased by 0.41%, while the Nasdaq Composite surged by 0.84% to close at a record.
