With traders anticipating big company results announcements following the benchmark’s strongest day in over a month, stock futures saw minimal movement on Tuesday.
S&P 500 futures hovered close to their zero line. Tomorrow’s Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 30 points, or 0.1%. Nasdaq-100 futures saw a 0.3% decrease. Following the bell, Tesla and Google parent Alphabet are expected to release their financial results.
The Street’s first glimpse at the performance of big tech brands in the second quarter will come from those reports.
In the meantime, shares of General Motors increased by almost 5% after the company reported second-quarter results that significantly above analyst estimates. Stock fell 7% as a result of UPS’s top and bottom line misses.
These actions come after Wall Street had a successful day, with technology stocks rising from previous this week’s drop. While the Dow edged higher by 0.3%, the S&P 500 saw a gain of more than 1% for its biggest session since early June.
