As investors attempt to drive stocks back to all-time highs in light of the Federal Reserve’s recent hint that rate cuts are on the horizon, stock futures saw minimal movement on Monday.
While Nasdaq-100 futures remained steady, S&P 500 futures saw a 0.1% increase. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures experienced a 44-point increase.
Following an impressive week in which Fed Chair Jerome Powell hinted at impending interest rate decreases, stocks are now experiencing a downturn.
Since early August, investors have been wary of elevated borrowing costs as they may have negative effects on the U.S. economy. This has led Wall Street to eagerly expect a rate decrease. Fears stem from concerning economic statistics.
