Wall Street is waiting to see if stocks can rise to all-time highs this week, which is why stock futures were flat Wednesday.
S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average-related futures were unchanged. The Nasdaq 100 futures saw a 1.2% increase.
Premarket trading saw a 3% increase in Morgan Stanley shares as the company’s third-quarter revenue and earnings exceeded Wall Street projections. In the normal trading session on Tuesday, the Dow and S&P 500 both fell 0.75% and 0.76%, respectively, from their recent highs.
Although it dropped 1.01%, the Nasdaq Composite is still below 2% of its own peak. S&P 500 and Nasdaq equities were heavily influenced by tech stocks, particularly semiconductors. Nvidia dropped more than 4% on Tuesday, causing the IT industry to drop 1.8%.
