The S&P 500 rose to a new high on Wednesday, demonstrating how equities are holding up in spite of President Donald Trump’s threat of additional tariffs and the Fed’s ongoing caution.
The S&P 500 experienced its second consecutive record finish, closing at 6,144.15 after rising 0.24%. Additionally, during the session, the index reached a new all-time high.
While the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 71.25 points, or 0.16%, to close at 44,627.59, the Nasdaq Composite went up 0.07% to settle at 20,056.25.
Following the release of the company’s first-ever quantum computing processor, Microsoft’s stock rose 1.3% and led the larger technology section higher. Tesla’s gain was nearly 2%.
When Analogue Devices reported better-than-expected quarterly results on both the top and bottom lines, the company’s stock rose by almost 10%.
