After the U.S. announced that tariffs would take effect on August 1 rather than July 9, stock futures dipped on Monday.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 70 points, or 0.2%. Futures for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq-100 fell 0.3% and 0.5%, respectively.
Following Elon Musk’s announcement over the weekend that he intended to create a new political party dubbed the “America Party,” Tesla shares fell by about 6% during Monday’s premarket trading session.
The billionaire’s political involvement this year has not gone down well with investors, who claim it has hurt Tesla’s sales and reputation.
