The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at a record high Thursday, rising 276.31 points, or 0.55%, to 50,285.66, amid volatility in oil prices and Treasury yields as traders await a resolution to the Middle East conflict.
The S&P 500 increased by 0.17% to 7,445.72, and the Nasdaq Composite edged up 0.09% to 26,293.10.
Oil prices declined sharply, with West Texas Intermediate futures falling nearly 2% to $96.35 per barrel, and Brent crude dropping over 2% to $102.58.
The initial rise was driven by reports that Iran’s supreme leader issued a directive to limit enriched uranium, adding uncertainty to the U.S. Iran situation.
