Nearly every company is currently focused on artificial intelligence, whether it’s how the technology is transforming their industry or its impact on employees and customers.
However, the extent to which companies are adopting AI tools internally and adjusting to this rapidly evolving landscape varies greatly.
A new study from the AI-Driven Enterprise Institute (AIDE) analyzes how well S&P 500 companies and their leaders are integrating AI compared to their peers.
The top performers are primarily in the tech sector. The study evaluated companies across four areas literacy, advocacy, orientation, and implementation and assigned each a score out of 100 in these categories, along with an overall index score.
In technology, Nvidia earned the highest score (an average of orientation and implementation) and was the only company to receive a perfect score of 100.
Nvidia has become the world’s largest company by producing the chips and systems that have driven AI model development.
Meta and Amazon also scored 100, though within the S&P 500, they are classified as communication services and consumer discretionary companies, respectively.
