SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son: The AI Revolution Is 50 Times Larger Than the Dot-Com Boom

SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son has stated that the AI revolution is over 50 times bigger than the dot-com boom of the early 2000s.

He explained that this technological transformation surpasses the dot-com era by a significant margin, emphasizing the scale of current investments, including a €75 billion ($87 billion) commitment to develop AI infrastructure in France, featuring 5 GW of AI data center capacity.

Son reflected on the dot-com crash, noting that its painful burst was just a small setback in a much larger, long-term growth story.

He described this period as the most significant technological revolution in human history, comparing it to the early days of the internet.

Regarding potential market corrections, Son acknowledged that downturns are always possible but highlighted that history shows some crashes, like the one in 1929, were followed by prolonged periods of growth. He views any corrections as prime opportunities for investment.
