Nvidia has become the world’s most valuable company by leading the market for artificial intelligence chips in data centers.
Now, the company is expanding into the PC processor space, traditionally dominated by Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, and Apple.
At Taiwan’s Computex conference on Monday, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a new PC processor developed in partnership with Microsoft.
The RTX Spark superchip, also called the N1X, is set to debut this fall on a new line of Windows PCs from Microsoft, Dell, HP, ASUS, Lenovo, and MSI.
Huang described the development as a transformative moment for computers, comparing it to the smartphone revolution, and emphasized that “Microsoft and Nvidia are going to reinvent the PC.”
He noted that this is the first completely redesigned line of PCs in 40 years, with agentic AI expected to run across all the new devices.
