Stocks rose on Monday as major tech shares led the gains to kick off the new month, while oil prices fell after President Donald Trump called off planned strikes against Iran.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 453 points, or 0.9%. The S&P 500 gained 1.3%, and the Nasdaq Composite surged 2%.
Meta Platforms jumped nearly 7%, and Amazon climbed over 6%, reaching a record $3 trillion market cap. Nvidia rose 2%, while Alphabet and Microsoft each gained approximately 5%.
