The S&P 500 reached a new intraday high on Wednesday, extending its recent rally driven by strong corporate earnings and growing optimism about the potential reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The broad market index rose 0.6%, while the Nasdaq Composite increased 0.4%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 365 points, or 0.7%, hitting a new all-time high as well.
These gains follow a previous session where the market surged, with the S&P 500 closing above 7,700 for the first time and the Dow soaring over 900 points to a record close.
