3.7%, or 1,419 points, were added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The Nasdaq Composite increased 4.3%, while the S&P 500 surged 3.8%.
The three major averages were headed for their highest level since November 2022.
Trump wrote on Truth Social Tuesday that China “also wants to make a deal badly” and that he had a “great call” with South Korea’s interim president.
Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, said Fox News on Tuesday that the White House is giving priority to tariff negotiations with allies like Japan and South Korea.
