Megacap technology names, including Tesla and Nvidia, saw a rally in the Nasdaq Composite, which ended the session at 18,188.30, up 0.88%.
Both indices closed at record highs, reaching new all-time highs during the session. At 39,308.00, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed with a loss of 23.85 points, or 0.06%.
UnitedHealth’s approximately 1.7% decline weighed on the 30-stock index.
The New York Stock Exchange closed early on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET, resulting in a low trading volume. Thursday is Independence Day, thus the exchange will be closed.
