Despite losing key personnel this week, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar wants to reassure investors that the highly valued artificial intelligence business is still in a great position and is ready to close a significant investment round shortly.
Friar addressed Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati’s resignation in an email to OpenAI investors that CNBC saw. Murati made her exit announcement on Wednesday.
Two senior research executives, Bob McGrew and Barret Zoph, were also departing.
“I wanted to personally reach out following the news of Mira’s departure from OpenAI.” “I want to make sure you have the whole context, even though changes in leadership are never easy.”
“We are incredibly proud of everything she’s helped build,” Friar continued, adding that the San Francisco-based business still has a competitive “talented leadership bench.”
