Monday saw stocks rise as investors recovered from the sharp losses of the previous session, which were brought on by worries about the economy and a fresh wave of tariffs from the Trump administration.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 1.1%, or 471 points.
Both the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 saw 1.2% and 1.5% increases.
“Markets are recovering from Friday’s post-jobs slump, but sentiment changed significantly last week as investors had to deal with stagflationary economic data (soft jobs and the relatively hot PCE) and a CQ2 earnings season that ended on a mixed note after beginning strongly,” wrote Adam Crisafulli of Vital Knowledge.
