After Netflix revealed that its number of subscribers hit a new high in the fourth quarter, futures linked to the tech-heavy Nasdaq-100 increased on Wednesday.
S&P 500 futures increased by 0.4% and Nasdaq 100 futures by 0.7%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures increased by 0.1%, or 49 points.
In premarket trade, Netflix shares increased by 9.6%. The streaming service reached an all-time high of 260.8 million members after adding over 13 million new ones in the fourth quarter. In addition, revenue above analyst expectations, and the company provided earnings guidance for the current quarter that exceeded estimates from Wall Street.
