As investors dealt with growing inflation expectations ahead of important reports that are expected later this week, stocks barely moved on Monday. S&P 500 was close to flat, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.1%.
By 0.3%, the Nasdaq Composite increased. Customers’ expectations for price rises, both short- and long-term, climbed last month, according to a New York Federal Reserve study. The inflation estimate increased to 3.3% on a yearly basis. Its five-year forecast increased somewhat to 2.8%.
