Stock market futures declined slightly on Wednesday as investors awaited a key inflation report set to be released later in the week. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped 130 points, or 0.34%, while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures also retreated by 0.42% and 0.57%, respectively.
During after-hours trading, e-commerce platform eBay saw a more than 3% increase in its stock price after announcing plans to boost its quarterly dividend and invest an additional $2 billion in share buybacks. However, retail company Urban Outfitters experienced a 10% decline in its stock value following lower-than-expected fourth-quarter results.
In the previous regular trading session on Tuesday, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed with modest gains of 0.17% and 0.37%, while the Dow Jones fell for the second consecutive day, slipping by 0.25%.
