Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped from all-time highs. The 30-stock average dropped 0.3%, or 257 points.
The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.2% while the S&P 500 increased 0.1%. Following the company’s revision of its full-year earnings outlook, UnitedHealth saw a 9% decline. A 2% increase was recorded by Bank of America due to better-than-expected profits.
About 40 S&P 500 businesses have released their third-quarter earnings thus far. 80% of those have exceeded analyst estimates.
The S&P 500 and Dow hit all-time highs after a successful session on Wall Street. Notably, the Dow finished above 43,000 for the first time, adding more than 200 points.
