Tuesday’s gains saw stocks move back towards the all-time highs reached last month before a precipitous decline sparked by this week’s first set of significant U.S. inflation data.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 1.72%, while the S&P 500 gained 1.03%. Currently, the broad market index is only around 5% below its July record high.
A gain of 194 points, or 0.49%, was made by the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The wholesale price index, or producer price index, rose by 0.1% in the previous month.
