The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 238 points, which is a 0.6% drop. The S&P 500 fell by 0.4%, while the Nasdaq Composite saw a decline of 0.3%.
Shares of major companies like Alphabet and Apple each fell by over 1%. In contrast, Tesla experienced a slight increase in its stock price.
On Wednesday, the White House is anticipated to announce reciprocal tariffs affecting goods from nearly all countries. Initially, investors had hoped for a more limited approach to these tariffs.
