As investors attempted to release pressure brought on by the deadly Israel-Hamas war, stocks remained close to their flat line on Monday.
The Nasdaq Composite fell around 0.4% while the broader market index fell back 0.1%. By 0.1%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased.
After the militant organisation Hamas conducted an invasion, which Israel appeared to be unprepared for, the Israeli-Palestinian war erupted on Saturday. The newest statistics show that Operation Al Aqsa Flood, as it is known by Hamas, has resulted in the deaths of over 700 Israelis and at least 560 Palestinians as a result of Israeli strikes in retaliation on the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of war following the attack.
