Investors should be aware of the following five essential points before beginning the trading day:
1. May is great.
With all three major averages posting their sixth consecutive positive month, May proved to be a successful month for stocks. With a gain of 6.9%, the Nasdaq Composite had its best month since November, demonstrating its superior performance. In May, the S&P 500 increased by 4.8% while the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 2.3%.
2. And still another
The market for artificial intelligence chips is exploding. Only a few months after revealing the details of its future “Blackwell” model in March, AI darling Nvidia presented the “Rubin,” its next generation of AI chips, on Sunday.
3. Modification of schedule
The OPEC+ alliance, a powerful coalition of oil exporting nations, has decided to prolong its collective reduction in crude production until 2025.
4. GameStop yells
The “Roaring Kitty” account owner, Keith Gill, is rumoured to hold a significant stake in the video game store GameStop, which sparked another massive surge in the company’s stock.
5. Vehicles and trains
Ford has an eye on the future. Its outlook for the future, however, differs slightly from that of some other businesses, who are planning to reduce staff as more workers become accustomed to working remotely.
