1. Surpassing records
Once again, the Dow Jones Industrial Average achieved a new record high on Monday, reaching a closing figure of 38,797.38 with a 0.33% increase. In contrast, the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 saw slight declines of 0.3% and 0.09%, respectively.

2. JetBlue’s soaring shares
Following activist investor Carl Icahn’s disclosure of a nearly 10% stake in JetBlue, the airline’s stock surged by 15% during extended trading on Tuesday morning. Icahn, who gradually acquired the position in January and February, believes that the company’s stock is undervalued. JetBlue has seen a decrease of over 27% in its stock value over the past year.

Tuesday morning brought a wave of earnings reports from food and beverage companies. Coca-Cola exceeded Wall Street’s expectations, generating revenue of $10.85 billion compared to the projected $10.68 billion by analysts surveyed.

Bitcoin’s upward trajectory persists as it surpassed $50,000 on Monday, reaching its highest level since December 2021. Various factors, such as the positive trend in the stock market and a more lenient monetary policy in China, are contributing to its growth.

5. Historic Super Bowl viewership
Super Bowl 58 garnered the most television viewership in history, with an estimated 123.4 million viewers tuning in to watch the game. The matchup, which entered overtime for only the second time in NFL history, saw a 7% increase in viewership from the previous year’s record-setting 115.1 million average viewers. Additionally, the game had the highest streaming numbers ever, with viewers flocking to Paramount+ to witness the Kansas City Chiefs triumph over the San Francisco 49ers.
