The S&P 500 remained largely steady on Wednesday following the release of the latest personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, which showed that inflation continues to stay elevated.
The broader market index hovered around break-even, while the Nasdaq Composite dipped slightly by 0.1%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 112 points, or 0.2%.
Meanwhile, Meta settled a lawsuit with several state attorneys general concerning claims that its social media platforms negatively impacted young users. Shares of Meta rose by 1% on the day.
