1. Dow peaks On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average set a new intraday record and ended at an all-time high. After rising more than 200 points during the day, the 30-stock index ended the day up 65.44 points, or 0.16%.
2. The Apple restructuring A new chief financial officer has been appointed by Apple. On Monday, the IT giant announced that CFO Luca Maestri, who has held the position since 2014, will take over on January.
3. Arrival prices An affordable version of Eli Lilly’s weight loss medication Zepbound was made available on Tuesday. Nearly half of the medication’s regular monthly list price is charged for the new version: Zepbound 2.5-milligram and 5-milligram single-dose vials are currently available for purchase on Eli Lilly’s direct-to-consumer website for $399 and $549 per month, respectively.
4. The media bidding war is over. There’s a new chapter in the Paramount merger saga. Skydance Media will now take over Shari Redstone’s media business after veteran media executive Edgar Bronfman Jr. withdrew his $6 billion bid to purchase Paramount Global on Monday.
5. Crypto storage This year has seen a surge in both the price of bitcoin and the quantity of cryptocurrency billionaires. There are already 172,300 people in the world who own cryptocurrency assets worth more than $1 million.
