President Donald Trump said that his administration would audit the gold reserves held at Fort Knox in Kentucky.
On Wednesday, President Trump declared on Air Force One, “We’re going to go to Fort Knox, the fabled Fort Knox, to make sure the gold is there.”
Elon Musk’s recent remarks about X have fuelled a push to audit Fort Knox. Due to the fort’s high level of security, conspiracy theories over whether the government is telling the truth about the quantity of gold kept inside have occasionally surfaced over the previous few decades.
Fort Knox contains 147,341,858.382 troy ounces of gold, which lists the precise amounts of the United States’ gold reserves on its website.
