On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased, continuing its upward momentum after reaching a new record in the previous session, driven in part by optimism over a potential U.S. Iran deal.
The 30-stock Dow rose by 365 points, or 0.7%, led by gains in Goldman Sachs and Caterpillar, and hit a new intraday high. In contrast, the S&P 500 declined slightly by 0.2%, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4%.
Meanwhile, SpaceX soared 10%, extending its rapid gains since going public last week. During the session, the company briefly surpassed both Microsoft and Amazon in market capitalization. SpaceX priced its IPO at $135 per share and was trading around $212 at the close.
