Dow Attempts to Extend its Winning Run to Six Days by Ticking Higher

The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged higher on Wednesday, aiming to extend its winning streak to six days despite some weakness in the tech sector.

The Dow rose by 0.2%, or 82 points, putting it on track for its longest winning streak since December. In contrast, the S&P 500 decreased by 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite retreated by 0.3%.

Uber’s shares declined by 8.7% following the rideshare company’s unexpected net loss and weaker-than-anticipated bookings revenue. Meanwhile, Intel saw a decrease of over 2.5% after revising its second-quarter revenue guidance.

Tesla’s stocks also experienced a 2% drop after reports by Reuters suggested that U.S. prosecutors were investigating possible wire fraud by the company as part of an inquiry into Tesla’s Autopilot systems.
