The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged higher on Wednesday, aiming to extend its winning streak to six days despite some weakness in the tech sector.
The Dow rose by 0.2%, or 82 points, putting it on track for its longest winning streak since December. In contrast, the S&P 500 decreased by 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite retreated by 0.3%.
Uber’s shares declined by 8.7% following the rideshare company’s unexpected net loss and weaker-than-anticipated bookings revenue. Meanwhile, Intel saw a decrease of over 2.5% after revising its second-quarter revenue guidance.
Tesla’s stocks also experienced a 2% drop after reports by Reuters suggested that U.S. prosecutors were investigating possible wire fraud by the company as part of an inquiry into Tesla’s Autopilot systems.
