The S&P 500 remained steady on Tuesday, while SpaceX extended its impressive post-IPO rally following the previous session’s record close on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, driven by optimism over a potential U.S.-Iran deal.
The broader market index edged up 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite increased 0.3%. The Dow rose by 300 points, or 0.6%, led by gains in Goldman Sachs and Caterpillar.
SpaceX surged 12%, surpassing Amazon in market capitalization and building on its rapid gains since going public last week. The company set its IPO price at $135, and shares traded around $212 before the close.
