Dow Futures Drop 1,200 Points as the Worldwide Stock Market Meltdown Gets Worse

As part of a worldwide market sell-off driven by worries of a US recession, U.S. stock futures fell on Monday.

In its worst day since the Wall Street meltdown on Black Monday in 1987, Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 12%.

The current state of U.S. stock market futures is as follows:

After losing 611 points on Friday, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 1,274 points, or 3.3%.

After the benchmark fell 1.8% on Friday, S&P 500 futures are down 4.6%.

Nasdaq-100 futures saw a 6% decline as large tech firms suffered heavily in early trading. It would be the first fall of 1,000 points in the Dow since September 2022 if the decline continued.
