As investors evaluated the most recent corporate earnings reports on Friday, stocks traded in a mixed bag, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average extended its winning streak to 10 sessions.
The Dow Jones index of 30 stocks increased 2.51 points, or 0.01%, to close at 35,227.69. The S&P 500 increased 0.03% to close at 4,536.34, while the Nasdaq Composite decreased 0.22% to close at 14,032.81.
The Dow almost achieved a feat not accomplished by the index since August 2017: ten consecutive days of gains.
The Dow increased 2.08% and the S&P 500 increased 0.69% on a weekly basis. The two indices had their second straight week of gains. For the period, the Nasdaq decreased by 0.57%.
