Stocks rose on Monday to start the holiday-shortened trading week, boosted by SpaceX’s continued rally and President Donald Trump’s announcement of an agreement to end the conflict between the U.S. and Iran.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 468.77 points, or 0.92%, closing at a record 51,671.03. During the session, the 30 stock index also reached a new all-time intraday high.
The S&P 500 increased by 1.65% to 7,554.29, while the Nasdaq Composite surged 3.07% to finish at 26,683.94, marking its best day since March 31.
SpaceX shares jumped nearly 20% after soaring 19% in their public debut last Friday.
