The first American corporation outside the technology sector to achieve the coveted $1 trillion market capitalisation level was Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, which did it on Wednesday.
With over 27% gain in 2024, the Omaha-based conglomerate’s shares have almost doubled the return of the S&P 500.
Merely two days prior to the “Oracle of Omaha”‘s 94th birthday, the $1 trillion mark was reached. FactSet reports that the market crossed the $1 trillion threshold on Wednesday thanks to a 1.2% gain in shares.
